OHT Partners breaks ground on 360-unit luxury apartment complex near Katy's Grand Parkway

OHT Partners has started construction on a 360-unit apartment community along Kingsland Boulevard in Katy. The project is expected to open in 2027 and will be the developer's 17th upscale apartment community in Houston.
Construction has begun on a 360-unit apartment community along Kingsland Boulevard in Katy. OHT Partners is developing the project near Grand Parkway and Interstate 10, in the Katy Independent School District. The three-story complex is scheduled to open in 2027. The project will be the 17th upscale apartment community in Houston for OHT Partners, an Austin-based developer. The company has not announced a name for the community.
The building will contain 246 one-bedroom homes and 114 two-bedroom homes. Unit sizes will range from 702 to 1,256 square feet. OHT Partners described the apartments as luxury residences. The design uses European farmhouse architecture, with light brick exteriors, natural-toned interiors and gabled rooflines.
Inside the apartments, OHT Partners plans to install quartz countertops, French door refrigerators, wood-style flooring and built-in mudrooms. Each home will also have Wi-Fi-enabled thermostats, front control ranges, brass hardware and linen storage.
Shared facilities will include a 24/7 fitness center, co-working lounge, pool with private cabanas and a pavilion, and a clubroom kitchen. The development also will include electric vehicle charging stations, a 7,800-square-foot dog park, a pickleball court, package lockers and community-wide Wi-Fi.
The site is close to shopping and entertainment venues, including PopStroke, Andretti Indoor Karting, Costco and H-E-B. Jackson Simons, vice president of development for OHT Partners, said the Katy area continues to see strong apartment demand because of its schools, retail options and access to employment centers.
Simons said the project will meet that demand in one of the area's best locations with leading unit finishes and amenities while maintaining competitive rental pricing. The company did not provide rental rates or a specific opening date beyond 2027.
