Saddle Creek Logistics Services to Lay Off 168 Employees at New Caney Facility on June 11

Saddle Creek Logistics Services filed a WARN notice with the Texas Workforce Commission on April 15 announcing 168 layoffs at its New Caney facility on June 11, 2026.
Saddle Creek Logistics Services will lay off 168 employees at its New Caney facility in Montgomery County on June 11, 2026, according to a notice filed with the Texas Workforce Commission under the federal Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification Act.
The company filed the WARN notice on April 15. The filing did not state a reason for the layoffs and did not describe what employee support, if any, will be provided.
New Caney is an unincorporated community in Montgomery County, about 25 miles northeast of downtown Houston. The affected facility operates under the name Saddle Creek Logistics Services. The company was founded in 1966 as Saddle Creek Corporation.
Saddle Creek is a third-party logistics provider based in Lakeland, Florida. The company offers warehousing, transportation, omnichannel fulfillment, and contract packaging for manufacturers, retailers, and e-commerce businesses.
The Texas filing follows a separate WARN notice Saddle Creek made in Alabama. In a Feb. 27, 2026 filing with the Alabama Department of Labor, the company announced it would lay off 151 employees at its facility in Bessemer, Alabama. Those layoffs are scheduled for April 30.
The company has changed its name, added automation, and expanded warehouse operations in recent years. Its website says it supplies integrated supply-chain services to clients in retail, manufacturing, and e-commerce.
WARN notices are required under federal law when employers plan plant closings or mass layoffs that meet certain thresholds. The Texas Workforce Commission receives WARN filings for layoffs in Texas.
The New Caney layoffs take effect June 11, 2026.
